Intraprostatic PSMA intensity, as measured standardized uptake values (SUV), could predict clinically relevant oncological outcomes for PCa. This study aims investigate the correlation between SUV in patients with PCa prior radical prostatectomy (RP) adverse pathology outcomes, including Gleason score (GS), pN1 status biochemical progression-free survival (PFS). METHODS: A total 318 biopsy-proven scheduled RP a pelvic lymph node dissection 84.5%, (269/318 patients) were retrospectively analysed (median PSA: 10.5 ng/ml). Prior RP, received PET/CT either 68Ga-PSMA (189/318 (59%) or 18F-DCFPyL-PSMA (129/318 (41%) patients). images visually semi-quantitatively measuring maximum (SUVmax) most intense suspect lesion prostate. The SUVmax primary tumour was assessed relation GS, PFS. RESULTS: Patients tumours GS ≤7 showed significantly lower compared >7 both tracers (SUVmax F18: 7.4 versus 14.5; p<0.001, Ga68: 7.3 9.3; p=0.01). Moreover, positive nodes on examination exhibited higher median than those without 7.9 12.3; p=0.04, 7.6 12.0 p<0.001). Of cohort, 77.6% (247/318) free from progression at follow-up 11.6 months (Range 1.4–32.8 months). As shown figure 1, pooled quartiles favourable PFS upper 2 (p<0.001). CONCLUSIONS: PSMA-PET/CT is prognostic may be valuable new biomarker localised correlated intensity tracer accumulation PC tracers. Imaging Cellular Proliferation in Prostate Cancer with Positron Emission Tomography

Prostate cancer remains a major public health problem worldwide. Imaging plays an important role in the assessment of disease at all its clinical phases, including staging, restaging after definitive therapy, evaluation of therapy response, and prognostication. Positron emission tomography with a number of biologically targeted radiotracers has been demonstrated to have potential diagnostic and...

Prostate-specific antigen doubling time as a predictor of Gleason grade in prostate cancer.

INTRODUCTION Our aim was to evaluate the value of serum prostate-specific antigen doubling time (PSADT) to identify patients with high-grade prostate cancer who require more aggressive therapy from those with low-grade cancer. MATERIALS AND METHODS Of 460 patients with extended 12-core transrectal ultrasonography-guided biopsy of the prostate, 59 with confirmed prostate cancer were selected. ...

Expression of Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA) in Brain Glioma and its Correlation with Tumor Grade

Background & Objective Angiogenesis is an essential component of tumor growth. Expression of PSMA on the neo-vasculature of many solid tumors, including glioblastoma multi-form, has been determined. The pattern of expression suggests that PSMA may play a functional role in angiogenesis. Methods: expression of PSMA in dif...

What is the most appropriate test in detecting prostate cancer in patients with intermediate prostate specific antigen levels?

Abstract   Background: Regarding the variety of tests present for detecting and also screening   prostate cancer and also bearing in mind the advantages and disadvantages of   these tests we decided to re-evaluate these tests (total prostate specific antigen and all   of its modifications) in detecting prostate cancer in men with intermediate serum   PSAlevels.   Methods: Following a cross se...
